About me

MATTHEW (MATTY) CHANG is a Cambodian-Chinese-American writer, director, and producer who graduated from Harvard University in 2023 with a degree in film production, where he studied closely under filmmaker Dominga Sotomayor. His thesis was nominated for a Thomas T. Hoopes Prize for outstanding senior projects. His short films have screened at numerous festivals including Dances with Films, HollyShorts, and the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon. He is inspired by stories of love and resilience, such as his own family’s experience escaping the Khmer Rouge.

Matty is currently in development on four feature films.
